“Shaking off my slumber at first light, I began setting up my tripod to capture these monumental dunes accented by the warm first rays of day when I
noticed an incongruous speck at the crest of the highest dune -- someone had climbed the dunes in the dark (dune climbing, with the sand shifting beneath your boots, is not easy anytime) to take in the sunrise from
the top. Eerily, I saw nor heard any sign of other human presence in the area - I know not from where he or she came - or went.”
