Ever wonder why your scenic pictures often don’t turn out as dramatic and exciting as you had hoped? Do you return from a trip or vacation from some magical place frustrated with how your pictures look, dismayed that they really don’t capture the beauty you saw with your own eyes? Photographer David Lawrence Reade’s proven techniques can help you vastly improve your photography so that doesn’t happen again. This seminar will have you seeing the world through a professional photographer’s eye and subsequently capturing much improved images.

This is an interactive seminar in the sense that David encourages questions and does not move on to the next subject until everyone is satisfied with their understanding of  the current concept being discussed.

About the Instructor: Reade has been selling his work professionally for well over a decade and has produced three best-selling books featuring our area including his latest, Western New York Wild. He has exhibited at premier arts shows throughout the east and has won countless awards for his work. An experienced instructor, David has given numerous seminars on various aspects of photography and the art show business.

Note – the techniques taught in this course will help with how you approach and think about your photography, generally before you even click the shutter. Although settings and functions on cameras in general are discussed, this course will not  teach you how to apply those settings and functions on your specific camera, you will need to study your owners manual for that. A basic understanding of how cameras function (whether digital or film) is helpful but not required.

This seminar is generally about 1½-2 hours in length. You will be provided with a printed course outline to help you recall the information later.

“I just got home from David's Art of Photography seminar in Clarence and wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. We were a small group of people, some with more knowledge of how cameras work than others, and some with more photography skills up their sleeves than others. We had many questions for David and each other, and we all shared a variety of experiences. After talking about photographic equipment and how a camera works, Dave used slides of his pictures to illustrate the art and techniques that went into making those pictures. It was a joy to see his beautiful pictures and hear what he was thinking, feeling and doing as he took them.

David's art as a photographer comes from the strong emotions he feels when he is "out in the field". His desire to take only the best pictures comes from an ability to keep those strong emotions from interfering with his skills. That love of photography and those skills and techniques were evident all through his presentation. Dave Reade is a good teacher!”      - Donna Duignan
