Images of the Month - November 2004
Hallowed Places
I don't often visit the same place more than once (too many places yet to see
before I pass on!), but the Killarney Wilderness in Northern Ontario is one
huge exception - I can't seem to get enough. Is it the ancient, marbled, white
quartz mountains looming over the crystal clear azure-blue lakes, pink
granite shorelines and
emerald green forests?
Is it the feeling of true
wilderness, millions of
acres where man is only
a visitor and only then by
foot or paddle? Is it the
pin-drop quiet nights
punctuated only by the
occasional timber wolf
howl or eerie warble of
a loon? I guess it's all
these things and more -
there are some
intangibles I can't quite
put my finger on, but let
me tell you this - I go
thru major Killarney
withdrawal if I don't get
there often.

“In Paradiso”

“Untrammelled”

“The Crack”.

Thanks for looking! I post these images for two reasons: (1) for those who are interested in seeing my latest work and (2) because they are a great way for me to guage reaction. Due to the significant investment in printing images, I often hold off going into the darkroom until I get your reactions.
>>>> I would greatly appreciate your feedback - now.
