Images of the Month - September 2004
Approaching Autumn
Some will say,

“Matanuska Meandor” - Matanuska Valley, Alaska
From its source, the mighty Matanuska glacier, the Matanuska River has sculpted a spectacular corridor between the Chugach and Talkeetna Mountains through which not only water flows, but all things human and wild as well.

“Into the Wild” - Wrangell-St. Elias, Alaska
Even though I know it not to be, I picture this road leading into the bush where a gifted and well-off young man, Christopher McCandless perished (read Jon Krakauer’s amazing book “Into the Wild”) testing his survival skills in the Alaskan wilderness.

“First Tree to Turn” - Vermont
With the rest of the woods still mantled in summer green, this tree goes autumn a good month in advance, giving notice that fall is, in fact, just around the corner.

Thanks for looking! I post these images for two reasons: (1) for those who are interested in seeing my latest work and (2) because they are a great way for me to guage reaction. Due to the significant investment in printing images, I often hold off going into the darkroom until I get your reactions.
>>>> I would greatly appreciate your feedback - now.
