Images of the Month - August 2005
Old Red Barns of the Backroads

This spring I went prowling around the mountain backcountry of North Carolina looking for anything interesting. I found old America, scenes from another century. And I found lots of old, red barns - for some reason even the most dilapidated barns are still kept painted bright red, not like here in Western New York where most old barns are a deep, weathered gray. Below are a few I especially liked.

“Seen Better Days”

“Hide ‘n Seek”

“Momma and Baby Barn”

Thanks for looking! I post these images for two reasons: (1) for those who are interested in seeing my latest work and (2) because they are a great way for me to guage reaction. Due to the significant investment in printing images, I often hold off going into the darkroom until I get your reactions.
>>>> I would greatly appreciate your feedback - now.
