Winter Paradise

January & February 2006

Letchworth Gorge in Western New York is renowned for its fall colors but much of the park is little visited during winter. Bundled up against the 10 below zero cold, I had this beautiful section of the park, dressed in winter white, to myself, not another two-legged footprint (but plenty of four-legged) to be seen other than my own.

“A plume of frozen mist rose in the distance as falling water met frigid air. I picked my way over the icy bridge to this side to the explore the giant icicles looming over the walkway.”.

“Ice-coated branches swayed in the
breeze over the rushing waters below.”
“Winter Lace” - New York

Thanks for looking! I post these images for two reasons: (1) for those who are interested in seeing my latest work and (2) I often hold off going into the darkroom to print an image until I get your reactions.
