Incredible Canyons
 May 2009

The top image captures sunrise at Western New York’s favorite local canyon, Letchworth Gorge. I took the other two in Utah during my recent sixteen day adventure in the Southwest. The middle shot is of a slowly eroding red rock cliff in a relatively unknown (even though many thousands of people whizz by it every year on their way to Bryce Canyon Nat’l Park) canyon called simply, Red Canyon. Amazing place and no crowds. In fact, I didn’t even see another soul the whole time I was there. The bottom picture is of the San Juan River Canyon and the distant monoliths of Monument Valley at sunrise captured from high above on Muley Point.
