Photography You Can Believe In

Why do I still use film and print in the
darkroom in this digital age?

With the advent of the computer darkroom it has become all too tempting to ‘Photoshop’ images (it’s even become a verb!), often morphing them into something that no longer depicts the original scene. You won’t find any of that here. With that knowledge, it is my hope that you will more fully appreciate these magnificent scenes feeling some of the same awe and wonder I felt when capturing them. Call me a purist but I still prefer to use my hard-earned experience and diligence in the way of the great masters.

My images will always live on in me as a result of their having evoked powerful emotions at the time I captured them. While some are just inspirational, others are cause to reflect on the mysteries and wonder of life itself. Some give me a feeling of profound peacefulness, while still others conjure up a sense of having been there before, perhaps in another lifetime. It gives me great joy when you purchase my work, to know that my images will continue to live on hanging in a special place in your home or office.

I call myself an “intuitive” photographer. I let the images call me. I don’t know how to explain it exactly, but I get a special feeling, a knowing that I should be somewhere and off to that somewhere I go. In that sense it is not so much about the place per se, but about the special, one-of-a-kind scene that is about to be revealed.

Sharing the fruits of my passion with you is a truly wonderful way to make a living and with your continued, much appreciated support and encouragement, I hope to be doing this for the rest of my life. Thank you all so much for your interest in my work!
